This is a magnificent full length opera coat from about the 1950s in black silk velvet. Incredible shaped collar! Slightly puffed shoulders, though no shoulder pads. Simple clean lines with no front closure. Fully lined in black satin. Label reads: Bergdorf Goodman Fifth Avenue at 58th Street. Small to smaller medium I’d say.
Excellent vintage condition. The only thing worth noting is wear to the velvet round the inner part of the collar right where it meets the neck ( not on the fancy part) and a few near the hem, see photo for example. The lining has a few small areas of very mild fade and a few seams that need some minor stitching.
Measurements when lying flat. Doubled at bust, waist and hip
this is an open front so theres some play to these measurements.
Armpit to armpit across bust: 44″
Waist: loose
Hips: loose
Shoulder to bottom hem: 54″
